A pasteles gift set for cooking and wrapping together

Celebrate family cooking traditions with Domestic Gourmet’s Pasteles Edition. This gift box combines three Latin pantry essentials with wrapping paper and cotton twine, bringing flavor and useful preparation supplies together for a hands-on cooking gift.

What is included?

• Annatto Oil, 12 fl oz: ready-to-use aceite de achiote made with organic high-oleic sunflower oil and organic annatto seeds.
• Adobo, 5 oz: savory all-purpose seasoning with garlic, onion, cumin and oregano.
• Sazón, 2 oz: annatto-first seasoning for warm color and earthy flavor.
• Pasteles paper, 1 lb: 12 × 18-inch sheets, approximately 55+ sheets. Sheet count can vary because paper is sold by weight.
• Cotton butcher’s twine, 800 ft: 100% cotton twine for securing wrapped preparations.

The seasonings contain salt. Adobo contains cumin, and Sazón contains onion. Banana leaves, masa, fillings and other fresh recipe ingredients are not included.

Plan a pasteles-making day

Follow Chef Ciji’s Puerto Rican pasteles recipe and gather the remaining ingredients before you begin. The oil and seasonings also belong in everyday meals, from rice and beans to roasted vegetables and stews. Explore more annatto oil recipes.

Check your batch quantities

This set contains 1 lb of paper and 12 fl oz (1½ US cups) of annatto oil. The linked full pasteles recipe lists 2 lb of paper and 1½–2 cups of oil for the masa, with additional oil used in preparation. Depending on your batch size, you may need extra pasteles paper and additional annatto oil. Gather banana leaves and fresh ingredients separately.

Choose the gift that fits

Choose this edition when your recipient needs pantry products plus wrapping and tying supplies. The standard cooking gift box contains the oil, Adobo and Sazón alone. For supplies without the pantry products, choose the Paper & Cotton Twine Bundle.
